My coaching is a journey to get you "out of your head" and into the heart and body, from beliefs and stories that keep us stuck to courage that moves us forward.

Most of my clients are looking for a deeper sense of peace, freedom and ease with themselves. They want to feel more comfortable in their own skin, to be less self critical or self judgemental so that they can live a more authentic life, finding a deeper sense of self to discover how they would like the rest of their life to be and to find the courage to live more bravely.

When the time comes to reflect on their lives, what people wish for themselves is not to have had greater success or more money. What people say is this:

"I wish I had been truer to myself."

I'll help you find the point where you are able to say: "I am enough just as I am". This greater sense of ease comes from understanding ourselves and choosing to change from an internally motivated desire.

Perfectionism, fear of other's opinions of us, lack of confidence in our own abilities and feeling like a fraud or imposter are all barriers we have put up to this more connected way of being.

Bren Brown says, "You cannot change what you don't understand".

What I am not is the coach to help you make millions, though the by-products of living courageously often include financial success. Rather, I am the kind of coach who can support you in living with more courage and self-compassion in everyday life, which for me is success.

What is Courage?

The word courage has its origins in the French word "coeur", the word meaning heart. So to live with more courage we need to live with more heart, or to put it another way to be more wholehearted. The opposite is not heartless, but 'half-hearted'.

It is easy for me to know that I don't want to get to the end of my life and think, "that was a half-hearted life". I want to get to the end of my life and say "I lived with courage, I did the best I could and that in spite of my fear, I did it anyway."

To have courage is to be all in, with every part of ourselves. It means knowing our fear and instead of running from it, choosing to move towards it. To do this we must own each and every part of ourselves as when we shut down a part of our true selves - whether that be from others or ourselves - we are no longer all in. What we do is orphan a part of ourselves, which means we cannot get a full experience of ourself or of life.

I believe that our Heart has the power to create the space for transformation, acceptance, compassion and courage.

Our heart is where we can welcome all of ourselves, the parts we do and don't like, and allow them to live more harmoniously.

The Research & Practice Behind My Coaching

Human Potential Coaching, I trained as a Human Potential Coach with Dr Mark Atkinson ~ the coaching model is an inward and holistic journey to discover your True Self and this brings clarity to who you are, what is important to you and why.

The Daring Way™, I went to train with Brené Brown in Texas and am now a qualified Daring Way™ Facilitator and can practice this work both indvidually and with groups. Her cutting edge research and outstanding work looks at the roles of courage, shame and vulnerability in our daily lives and brings an understanding of how to build the resilience to pick ourselves back up when we dare to be brave.

Shame is the belief that we are so damaged that we are unworthy of love and belonging. Shame resilience teaches us how to move away from this belief by understanding and challenging the stories that brought us to it.

Mindful awareness of body and breathing to get you 'out of your head'. You will be guided into a deeper understanding of your Heart, your body and their vital roles in living with courage and compassion.

Association for coaching - I am full member of the Association for Coaching and abide by the ethics and standards that they embody. I am in supervision with a qualified supervisor which is part of their requirements.

Voice Dialogue™, I use this amazing tool for deep discovery of the how we function in the world. It illuminates the dominant and undiscovered parts of our personality. We will work with them to create lasting balance, freedom and ease.
